HV Underground FaultDisplayed is a 11kV endbox broken down to provide access for testing and cable fault location. Earth switch remains closed ensuring full protection from energised busbar through equipment.
Overhead Insulator replacement programDid you know that your insulators could have aged and no longer be effective. You may be one switching surge or lightning strike away from bringing your network down. Without detailed records, insulators can stay on the network well beyond their intended lifespan.

Clean CycleThrough our work at MEC we assisted with the electrical install of the GE Clean Cycle system. It uses a Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) to capture wasted heat and turn it usable electrical energy that continues to output while its heat source is available. This unit is connected the the base diesel engines that run Majuro and provide 198kW of power to the network.
Underground cable tunnelsUnderneath the city, there is an entire world hidden from view, ensuring that at any moment when you turn on a switch, that the power is ready and available for you.This cable basement is housed under a 132/33/11kV vertical substation where we were required to locate the correct cable and pinpoint the fault for the repairs to start.
GIS SwitchgearGas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) is often used for 132kV and above due to its compact nature and high level of reliability.
Predictive maintenanceBy keeping record of the degradation levels of equipment from commissioning to retirement, you can accuately track the speed of decay of equipment. This will allow you to defer replacement infrastructure saving you capital and interest.
EnclosuresWhen space is a priority in your switchyard, sometimes clearances cannot be kept for an authorised person. Such measures must be taken to ensure safety is kept as priority by enclosing items which are not safe for a worker to walk past without risk of electrical arc.
